In January 2008, in advance of the official launch of the charity, IIH UK hired an online logo design company to design a "unique" logo for us. We were provided with a number of design ideas by the company, of which we eventually selected one, requesting changes to the colour scheme of the logo and placement of text. The final logo was displayed on our website, literature and promotional merchandise from early May 2008 until mid July 2008. On 11th July by chance we became aware that the "original" logo we were using bore more than a passing resemblance to one already in use by an existing charity, Education for Health, with whom we have no links, and which is an entirely separate organisation. At this point we took immediate steps to remove the logo from our website, and made arrangements for all of our literature bearing the logo to be removed, and we have not used this logo since.
IIH UK wishes to publicly apologise to Education for Health for any inconvenience caused, and for any confusion about the identity of our two organisations. It was never our intention to cause any confusion or misrepresent the identity of our charity. We accepted the assurances of our designer that our "designed" logo was unique in good faith, and have taken immediate steps to ensure that this logo is removed from all publicly displayed material. We extend our unreserved apologises to Education for Health, and also extend our apologies to our members and members of the public for whom the similarity of our logo to Education for Health's may have caused confusion about the identity of our organisation. This was not our intention.

Following the success of the first annual IIH Weekender held at the Haven "Golden Sands" holiday park in Mablethorpe, the first ever General Meeting of IIH UK was held, and our constitution has been formally adopted. After four years hard work, finally, IIH UK is official, and we now have our first members who signed up at the weekend, and received their membership packs full of IIH UK leaflets and IIH UK goodies! The weekend was a great success, and was attended by over 50 people - a great turnout for our first ever event, and we raised almost £500 for IIH UK! The IIH Weekender website will be updated shortly with the photos from the event. Issue 2 of the IIH UK newsletter "Heads Up!" will also feature photos and news from the Weekender.
Over the summer months we're going to be working hard on a redesign of the IIH UK site, to make the site easier to use, and hopefully make our information easier to find. An exact date for the launch of the new look site hasn't been set, but you'll see it here first!

Progress on the practicalities of setting up IIH UK continues apace, and the IIH UK team have been busy working on the IIH constitution and plans for the future, and preparations for first official meet–up in May.
Our newsletter team have also been hard at work to produce the first issue of IIH UK's official newsletter, "Heads Up!", and you can download the very first issue below.
Issue 1 of the newsletter isn't a full length issue, but just a taste of things to come in future issues. We'd like to thank our newsletter team for all their hard work on the first issue, and special thanks go to Joanna and Emma, our newsletter editors, who've done an outstanding job in getting the newsletter together, and in such style too!
IIH UK also have a new professionally designed logo, and we'll be re–branding the website over the coming weeks, so watch out for changes ahead!
