Since our launch in 2008 we have worked slowly but very surely to increase awareness of IIH.
We have met with ASBAH soon to be known as 'SHINE' and are working with them to raise awareness of IIH around the UK. With their assistance we have produced a new range of information leaflets which will be available as downloads from our new website which has been delayed, but we are confident that it should be up and running soon.
We have a newly elected Team including a new Chair Person and five Trustees. We are very confident and excited that the only way is up for IIH UK!
IIH UK is now very proudly registered with the Charities Commission and are a registered Charity in England and Wales number 1143522! Thank you to all of those who made this possible and special thanks to our new Chair!
Social Gatherings
We have organised another three Weekenders since 2008. The Weekenders have gone from strength to strength, giving IIH sufferers the opportunity to meet other sufferers and their friends and families, swap stories and have a giggle! We hope to organise many more so please keep an eye on the IIH Support Announcement Board.
A few other gatherings have been held across the country. Small get together's are organised by members and details can be found on the IIH Support Forum and our Facebook pages.
IIH Weekender The annual weekend for IIH sufferers, their family and friends jointly organised by IIH UK and the IIH Support forum.
September Awareness
This September IIH UK are determined to raise as much awareness as we can of IIH for its sufferers and all who care for them. Our wonderful volunteer fundraisers have organised many different events which can be found on our Justgivingand are raising much needed funds at the same time as having a laugh!. We would like to thank each and everyone of you and all those supporting them.
Information
IIH UK have designed a poster and leaflet for those who have been newly diagnosed which we are, with the help of many fantastic volunteers, distributing to all major neurological centres across the UK. In time we hope to have the leaflets and posters in every Hospital, GP surgery, Medical Centre and even Opticians! No sufferer or their family and friends should feel alone with this invisible condition and we hope that even the smallest amount of information will help them feel less isolated. IIH UK Christmas Ball
On the 3rd December 2011 IIH UK are holding a Christmas Ball At Olton Golf Club, Solihull, West Midlands B91 1JH. There are also details available on Facebook &ndash IIH UK Christmas Charity Ball 2011 and an Event, IIH UK Christmas Charity Ball 2011 to keep you up to date with who is coming! We have the Midlands Premier 80's Covers Band playing who have great reviews. The venue is wonderful and the food and drink will be too. As will the company!
